Today I’m sharing five reasons why winter might be the right time to sell your home:
Demand is still strong. Contrary to what you might think, buyers are looking year-round for the perfect house to hit the market. Especially if it’s priced correctly, there’s plenty of buyers looking right now, ready to make a move.
Less competition. Many sellers wait until the spring, summer, and autumn markets to list their property, but if you do what everyone else is doing, there’s more competition. There are fewer homes on the market in the winter, increasing demand for your property. More eyes will be on your property.
Serious buyers. Anyone who’s looking for a home around the holidays when everyone else relaxes is more serious. Many people have to move for a variety of reasons like relocation, marriage, divorce, and so on. People have life events all throughout the year.
Moving up. This is the perfect time to sell if you’re planning on moving up from a mid-level house to a high-end home. There’s much more availability in the higher price range, so it could be the perfect time to find your dream home.
Interest rates are low. Coming into 2020, we’re still seeing interest rates around 4%, and in many instances it’s much less than that. This may be the cheapest time to buy a house. It may be much less expensive than you think.
